Re: Honda Forums

Yeah seriously. Do you really think people are going to want to search thru all those threads about every car when they're looking for info on 1 specific car? Bad planning guys, bad planning. The questions any honda/acura owner is going to ask about JDM motors, turbo applications, interior, exterior, or suspension; are all going to be Honda/Acura specific only. I'm highly disappointed

Re: Honda Forums

Yeah, why move the Honda forum there? Not even logical.....

And the RSX forum got merged with the much bigger Integra forum - i'm definetly not going to spend nearly as much time as I did on this site because its just a waste of time browsing throughs wads of integra threads. The Integra doesn't even have the same series engine, suspension, tranny, interior, exterior, they're cars towards the same segment, but not the same.

If anything it would've made sense to have a Civic EP3/RSX forum. At least they both have K20s.

Off to the other forums I go.

Re: Honda Forums

I have posted a thread in the I Want Change forum if anyone cares to read it, or add to it at all. Even if you decide that the way things are now is fine; please still voice your opinions. Thank you.

They seriously need to put the forums back the way they were. Not only are all the Honda/Acura people forced to wade through pages of useless info, frm the merger of the RSX forum into the Integra one, but now all the other people are forced to wade through all our stuff. Do you really think all the other people want to read though pages of our Honda stuff to get to their post? It goes both ways!! Then there the issue of ALL the infomation in the Exterior/Bodykit/Lighting Forum being lost..All the stickys, all of it. This re-formating is pointless...Return the HOnda Forums to the way they were.

I think most of the people saw the re-formatting and decided it was time to go elsewhere. Many people with a vast array of knowlegde seem to have left, as Beastiek2 noticed also. Thaat costs AF many members with a valueable depth of knowlegde.

This re-formatting of the forums did nothing but loose valueable information and make the forums harder to navigate. It didn't just cost us knowlegde of memebers leaving, but it cost us knwledge already posted as well...entire forums worth of threads were lost, like the entire Honda exterior/body kit lighting forum and all it's posts and threads.

They merged the RX and Integra forum. They have nothing in commen, the RSX is K-series powered, spins the oppiste way from the convetional "old" honda motors we know, the B, H, F, and D series. It has Macpherson sturts, not a Double Wishbone suspension. The list goes on. Mergering those 2 forums would be just like merger the Accord and Oddssey forums "becuase they are both Honda." The similerity ends there. It just makes them more cluttered and confusing. Now the poor RSX guy must wade through pages of Intgera just to have his question answered. He'll have to keep bumping the thread too, since the Teg froum was very busy and it will likly end up a few pages back quickly.

And what about all the other forums. Suddenly the poor guys reading the general engineering thecnical forum, which used to discuss a lot of things, lke comparing pushrod to OHC motors, if forced to wade through 3 or more forums worth of Honda stuff. It makes there life hard too, making navigating harder for them AS WELL as us.

And worse yet, a lot of VALUEABLE information was lost. When they erased the Exterior/Body kits/Lighting forum, for example, and created a new one in "cars in general," all the threads and posts in the old forum were lost...the sitckys, all of it. There was a ton of useful information in there, now all gone. he only way to find it? The only was to find those stickys now? Know the name of the thread starter and search fro all threads started by that user.

Body Kit Websites (viewed over 27,000 times since Dec 2001)
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...y+Kit+websites
Now this useful Sticky is lost the the AF cyberspace, with links posted like this the only way to find it.

Same goes for this old sticky from the same forum
aftermarket bulbs:color temperature and usable light output (viewed almost 2,400 times since Jan 2004)
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=177538

Now all sorts of useful information like this is lost. People have to re-ask the question re typ them. I mean, these were stickys for a reason, why should all this info be gone? What is one good reason? Whatever their reason, the fact remaines the info is ALL GONE...and WHY?

This re-organizing of the forums didn't just unnecessarily clutter up all the forums and make them harder to navigate, it lost much valueabel information, information that will now have to be re-typed, re-researched, etc. Whats the good reason in this? The fact remains, THERE IS NONE.

This changing of the forums did nothing but clutter up the forums, make them hard to navigate and worse yet LOOSE ENTIRE FORUMS WORTH OF THREADS, POSTS AND INFO.

Return the Honda forums to the way they were, ASAP, this new re-organizatin servers no purpose other than confusing people, make them harder to navigate and cluttering up AF.

Years worth of information, like the links above, it now lost in AF cyberspace for no good reason, and thats just a sad sad thing.

Re: Honda Forums

Exactly what i've been saying about the RSX and Integra merger (like in my merge 350z and evo forums thread ). Nothing except relative size and same brand. That's their only similarity.

Re: Honda Forums

When the merge first happened I thought it was another problem with my computer-lol. Does anyone know the latest gossip as to why it was changed. I mean did it solve some great porblem AF was having. While I really, really, really do not like the change I would try to understand if a good reason was given- but I would still expect a change back to the old way-lol.
