2001 Ram 1500 gas mileage
I read a forum where someone talked about the "death flash" to the Dodge Ram trucks, saying it would decrease the power and mileage. Mine has this same "updated" sticker on the PCM. Then someone talked about a "modification" that can be done to get the timing back to normal. Would the Dodge dealer willingly remove the update, or do a modification on it, or should I find a mechanic that is not a Dodge dealership?

Re: 2001 Ram 1500 gas mileage
I've heard of that modification, however, I doubt a dealership would do it. it involves modifying the crank position sensor mount, and then moving the sensor so that it triggers earlier. I think your best bet would be to get either a mopar performance PCM, or maybe one of those programmer things.
