High Mount Brake Light

Has anyone replaced this! The whole unit costs around $200 I found a website that says there is a bulb on this unit for $2.00. I would much rather replace the bulb than the whole unit! Thanks for anyones help!

Re: High Mount Brake Light

Can't speak for 99 and up but the 93 - 97 Lhs/New Yorkers have an LED matrix Center Mounted Brake Light and they are known to drop a few segments due to loose solder joints on the LED's, How to replace or fix I have no clue but I think the plate that runs along the bottom of the rear window is removable because there are a bunck of screws that can be seen when you open the Trink, but never tried to see if it is as the Window Gasket also runs over it.

The shop had the wrong price, it actually is $250.00 ouch! And yes you do have to remove the section from under the window. I am going on a hunt the junk yards this weekend to see if I can find one reasonable. Thanks for your reply! I have a 1995 LHS that my parents drove with only 50,000 miles on it. Drives great, more road noise than I thought, but very comfortable.
