93 corolla swap to 4aGe 20v
I was thinking about buying a 1993 corolla dx 5sp, but before i do this i want to know if it is possible to swap the 7afe to the more potent 4age 20v. I am not sure how much HP is in this power plant, but if anyone knows please tell me. My budget is $5000.00 im going to spend no more then 2500 for the car, and the rest will go for the engine and suspension. Is it worth the swap?

Re: 93 corolla swap to 4aGe 20v
the 20V is rated @ 160hp, but you will need to do alot of custom work (wiring, welding) also, you will need to get the 20V ecu, and wiring harness, which will cost more than the engine. you should be able to pick up a 20V and ecu for 2000-2500, but good luck with the harness

I considered that for my '95, but ended up putting in a 5a-fe (I know, I know)

the silver top is great, but it lags torque.
