'95 Escort LX (manual hatchback) engine swap...

What engines will swap into this? Sorry if this question's been asked before.

I've got a '95 Escort LX, 5-speed manual (apparently), 4-cylinder 1.9 SEFI, and was wondering what other engines would swap into this? Maybe a ZX2 or ZX3 model? I'm no car expert, so those are guesses.

And, any idea how much it'd cost to have the engine put in and have all of the wiring done and everything?

The easyest would be the 97 2.0 SPI Escort motor.
With more work and parts you could swap in a MAZDA, 1.8 bp, 1.8bpt, 1.8 V6, 2.5 v6, mabe even a 2.0 FS.
The ford Zx2 Zetec would swap also.
