timing belt replacement
we have a 94 lhs with the 3.5 liter engine, runs great but it died on us the other day-no warning!so i came here to the forum and decided to look things up.come to find out it has happened to a couple of people,so i took a look at things behind the timing cover and lo and behold, the water pump was facing toward the sky and the tensioner pulley came apart in my fingers.so i went out and bought a water pump, timing belt, tensioner pulley[timing side],tesioner pulley[serpitine belt],alt belt and the a/c belt. i figured i might as well buy everything.my question is,and im not sure about what the manual says, and i want to make sure so i dont have to repeat myself,is the settings for the crank and the camshafts, ive got the crankshaft pointing to the tdc mark on the cover with the #1 cylinder at tdc and ive got the camshaft pulley dots inbetween the double dots on the cover, now is that all i got to do before i put on the timing belt? or is there something else im missing?i know the crank spins twice for every revolution of the camshafts, does that change your settings?any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: timing belt replacement
Remove the Tensioner Plunger and put it in a vise and compress the plunger and put a drill bit or allen wrench in the hole so when it's reinstalled there is no tension on the idler pully which will make the belt installation much easier. If you have the notch in the crank sprocket pointing to the TDC mark on the block and both cam sprocket marks inbetween the 2 dots on the casting and the new water pump bolted on then you are ready to install the belt. Start at the crank sprocket and then go to the drivers side cam sprocket, pull tightly on the belt before sliding it on that sprocket, if you can not slide it on when pulling on the belt tightly, rotate the cam sprocket very slightly clockwise to line up the teeth on the belt to the sprocket (But do not turn it past the reference marks, the idea is to make the belt tight from the crank sprocket to the cam sprocket). Once on the first cam sprocket then with tension on the belt, go under the water pump pully and to the passenger side cam sprocket. Again if the teeth on the belt doesn't slide right in on the sprocket rotate it slightly clockwise to line up the teeth of the belt to the sprocket (Again you shouldn't have to go past the reference marks on the casting but you want the belt tight from the drivers side cam sprocket and under the water pump to the passenger side sprocket) your belt should now be tight from the crank sprocket to the drivers side cam sprocket to the water pump and the passenger side cam sprocket but loose from the passenger side sprocket to the crank sprocket. Then install the tensioner by holding idler pully against the belt and torque to specs. Then remove the Drill Bit/Allen Wrench from the Tensioner Plunger to put tension on the belt. Then rotate the crankshaft 2 revolutions clockwise and stop with the crank sprocket notch aligned with the TDC mark on the block, if you go past that mark keep going 2 more revolutions, DO NOT rotate the crank backwards to align the marks. Then look at your 2 cam sprocket marks and verify that both marks are between the 2 dots on the casting, if both marks are between the 2 dots then the installation is complete, if not then redo the steps over again and reverify. I hope that what I described is not as clear as mud!
