Paper Car Modelling
I couldnt find anything in the faq expressing that this section is strictly for styrene and resin models so i decided to post here, it just seemed the most logical. I have recently gotton into paper car modelling, its suprising how detailed the models are, ive just finished this S2000 with large new wheels and a new number plate "ricepaper" I thought it was somthign to do on a rainy days avo' anyway, everyone should look into these models, they are not just simple 1 piece boxes either, i have built a dragster that comprised of working axles, 5 piece engine, 2 piece chassis and realistic interior, it took me 3 hours. Ill post some pics another time if you want to see some of them but i suggest you at least look into them, you wont be dissapointed.

Re: Paper Car Modelling
![]() Poor webcam shots of some easy models: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And a little more complex one, which I modified (was originaly an orange 934 RSR), and added to it 1/24 plastic model wheels (not fixed): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edit: to Vric: For the first ones, I used a A4 sheet of photo paper. And for the Porsche, I used a thick mat paper sheet (160g). For the Porsche 2 sheets were needed ("chassis"+body), and you can put 2 or 3 of the little funny ones on a A4 (21/29,7 cm) paper; but I must admit I resized them by reducing to 50% to do that. I felt they would be less fun if bigger... But bending and glueing is a little more difficult...

I made it about 2 months ago, and you can spot places where the glue has come unstuck. Otherwise, it's pretty cool, and it's a perfect 1/24 scale. I want to build the "complex" version. Also note all the other paper accessories on the Epson site that could be easily modified to use in other situations.

Re: Paper Car Modelling
I have the Hotwheels truck printed out but haven't started it yet. I had my wife print it at her work because I don't have A4 capabilities at home. Do you guys seal it with anything to make the model last longer? I don't want to see hours of work turn into a wilted, droopy scene after a year or so.
I might attempt one of the simpler ones on styrene. I just haven't had the time to go to the hobby store for some .010 sheets. |
