Unhappy Maintenance

I just took my 2000 328i in for the 30,000 mile maintenance. I only have 28,500 miles but had to have a window sensor fixed (again!) and thought I would take care of it all at once. Anyway, the dealer is telling me that my front brake pads need to be replaced (my brake warning light is not on) and that my power steering hose(s) is leaking and needs to be replaced.

Has any one had to either of these on a BMW with less than 30,000 miles?

Hmm,

4 year brake pads, with 28,000 miles and a loose hose clamp are not big deals. Both would be normal issues.

Later,

Re: Maintenance

They are not telling me a loose hose clamp but that the hoses need to be replaced at a cost of $450!

Re: Maintenance

IF the hoses are cracked or worn, they need to be replaced, try touvhing them with clean hands if your hands come off black then they are deteriorating and need to be replaced. If a car with low miles like yours sits or is in stop and go traffic this will speed up the proccess of these parts deteriorating. Mine sat for 3 years and everything had to be replaced.
