Nintendo Power!!
Hey guys! When I was a kid, I loved the original Nintendo. LOVED it. Played it ALL THE TIME. Knew every game forwards and backwards.
Why am I jabbering about it in the Music forum? Because of these two bands that play Nintendo Music: http://minibosses.com/ http://www.theadvantageband.com/ The Minibosses ROCK. Just two guitars, a bass, and a drum set. Their arrangements are great. They're based in Phoenix. The Advantage is more synth-y and has more distortion, but is a bit closer to the original 8-bit magic. They're based in California somewhere, I guess. Their site is confusing.  Both do great versions of MegaMan 2 music.   Check them out!

I can really respect the great guitar skill of those guys, but I just can't get into that music.

Ever see the video of the Japanese guy playing the Super Mario Bros. theme on guitar, including some of the sound effects, like the warp pipes and grabbing coins. I'll try and find it if you haven't seen it. Pretty cool.
