Should i keep my stock rims with NICE tires and powdercoat them black or graphite, or should i go with some konig holes 18" graphite rims and skimp on the tires?

Re: stock wheels or 18's

Ive got 18" holes and toyo proxes on my 93' Si. I got a hella deal on them(750$....brand new)! I've got tons of compliments on my wheels. But, on the other hand, I love any honda slammed with small wheels or stock wheels with really nice tires. I say, unless you get a really good deal on them, save your stocks and put that money under the hood! But thats just me.

Re: stock wheels or 18's

whatever you do, dont skimp on tires. You will be so mad at yourself when you race some dumb ass through a corner and he has the stickier tires, and beats you. TIRES ARE EVERYTHING.....after the engine of course.

Re: stock wheels or 18's

imo, nothing makes a statement (looks wise) as a nice set if rims. you can always upgrade the tires later. plus you could prolly sling 5th gen wheels for a pretty good price.

Re: stock wheels or 18's

bah - I'll just save. I am worried about rubbing though. should i bump the size down to 17's or what size rim / tire / suspension do you all recommend? thats a weak spot of mine - haven't had any experience with suspensions. - looking for spring / shock / strut combo with a small drop in height

Re: stock wheels or 18's

i'm pretty sure the 5th gens have it a lot easier with 18's than a 4th. do you have it lowered? b/c if you don't, or very little, the 18's dhould fit nicely. and i feel there is a noticable difference in 17 to 18. i'd run 18's but they won't fit (2.75" drop, hehe)

Re: stock wheels or 18's

I personally like 17's better, I have 17's on mine. I have a drop of about an inch, and I think the 17's just fit the wheel well really nicely. It's really a matter of preferance and what your goals are.

Re: stock wheels or 18's

i dont know my offset is. i just know they were for prelude. I think the prelude and accord have the same offset, but are different from the civics. you should be able to find the offset wherever you buy the wheels. maybe konig website?
