trick flow intake/sender location

I have a trick flow track heat intake. Does anyone know if there is more than one ECT sender location on it, off hand. I think that may be my rich problem, cause right now its not even hooked up.

Hey stang racer what kind of numbers are you running in the 1/4? Your set up is a lot like the one I am working on for my car.

Re: trick flow intake/sender location

Haven't seen one in person, but if it will directly bolt on to an SN95 5.0 then it has a hole on both sides of the front of the intake manifold-SN95's have a sensor/fan switch, and a sending unit.

There may also be plugged fittings in the rear of the intake, too.

Beware, there should also be a hole for an air charge temp sensor (for fox-bodies) in it also...

I got it. I lucked out cause the aftermarket chrome water neck i have has a pre-tapped thread(was plugged) for a sender, which I never even realized till now. So all I had to do was extend the signal wire a little to reach it.

Can someone with a fox 5.0 tell me what color the signal wire is for the ECT. I just wanna make sure it was the right wire that I had wrapped up before. Thanks all.

Eillob, I have not run it yet. I havent even gotten it road worthy yet really. I am, however, expecting high 11's or low 12's, tuned w/ slicks. What exactly are you working on?

Im getting some quotes right know for a 331 or a 347. Most places are giving me bids of about $5,000. Thats just for the motor. DSS quote was about $5,300 with a X303 cam and TFS heads. I don't know if I should go that route or just get a 347 short block from Ford motor sports and put my own combo together. Any suggestions?

It really depend on what you wanna do in the future. If you plan on going big, I'd go w/ either a CHP or a DSS shortblock and do the rest yourself.

Re: trick flow intake/sender location

You could go with a DSS short block. Have it machined for a hydro roller cam and lifters. Run AFR 185's, 10:1, Performer RPM intake, and have a quick street car.

Re: trick flow intake/sender location

Most of DSS's short blocks are roller setup anyway, since a 5.0 is that way from the factory.

I agree, use their shortblock, but shop around for the rest and build yourself a mean motor.

Don't spend 5 grand on a motor and screw it all up with an alphabet cam. Custom grind, all the way.

Who do I see for a custom grind cam? I've made up my mind Im definately going with AFR heads. Check out the new AFR competition head. http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...arch/index.php

Re: trick flow intake/sender location

Flow Tech Induction- Ed Curtis is a wizard with smallblock Fords.

Crane and Comp do custom grinds also...

Anyone know? Also, does it matter which side of the thermostat the computer takes the coolant temp reading from at all. I dont think so, but I wanna be sure.
