Cutting Neuspeed sport springs (just a little)

I have thought about cutting my Neuspeed sports front springs.
I love the rear look (1 finger gap). But, the front is 2 fingers and just would look much nicer with that same 1 finger gap as the rear.

Here's a quote from toolowintegra who said he cut his sportlines:

^ not enough....... that car hardly looks lowered at all, no offence, i bought sportlines and wasn't happy with the drop at all, so i had them cut another 1/2" now my teg looks tight"

That thread is
HERE

I would prefer to go the route of cutting the front ones a little, but have thought about the following:

Blow $140 on Neuspeed Race and just use the front
...take the Sports / Bilstein HD's out and get full coilovers

Unfortunately, $$ is tyte now, so coilovers are out of the picture for a long time

Anyone ever done this to an aftermarket spring? I'm talking a 1 finger cut down so that is not much (I don't think).

to be more specific.... what you are proposing is exactly what i did. i was not happy with the drop from the sportlines so i had the Front ones cut another half inch, the back was fine from the start, but like you're saying, the fronts had a nasty two finger gap, by cutting a half inch off the fronts i had a one finger gap on both front and back, now it looks tight

Ok, we're discussing this in like 2 other threads

Let's keep it here

Who cut the springs for you? How much did they charge? Did the ride quality change at all?

I read your response about the race springs, which makes sense and would not be a good idea to mix with the sports.

i had my buddy at a Midas do them, i know him personally and talked to him about the whole cutting springs thing for a while, he didn't think it would hurt anything so i decided to go with it, i mean cutting a 1/2" is like on coil on the spring, how much damage could it possibly do? but it makes a world of difference on the look (now i have 1 finger gap in front and rear). no rubbing, no noticable loss of ride quality, i'm completely satisfied, he did it for me for $100 (canadian) so like $10 US, hahah, nah more like $60.

i see your the guy who lives near shaq and them, cool, listen i'm gonna be in orlando florida NEXT week for reading week, could you tell me where some good tuner shops are in the orlando area?, i really want to pick up some stuff while im there

To be honest, the shops I have been to here have been rip-offs!!
Racing Works is the worst!! They tried to screw me on installation charges for spring / shocks install. Wanted like $320 and said it would take 5-6 hours. My dad, myself, and brother did the entire job in 3 hours.

So, avoid Racing Works!!!!! Sorry, I am new to the area myself.

ok, so i'll avoid Racing Works, do you know of ANY shops, cuz i'm sure that even if the prices arent that great, they are better than up here in Canada..... if you can just name me one or two half decent shops, and hit me up with addresses or phone numbers, i really want to check out some stuff when i'm in Orlando NEXT week
