fun night out

Well basically the cars involved are as follows

2004 v8 jeep laredo, 93 3000gt, 2004 ivtec accord, 2003 mustang gt.

We were basically all following the girl driving the mustang to another girls house who was supposed to be having a party and on the way we had a little fun.

First off i lined up against my friend with the mustang gt with my 3000gt. We talked about a quick race and we were for it so when the light turned green we floor it (everyones an auto) and somehow i managed to get a very meager jump on her before she manages to walk past me, i thought she would have simply destroyed me but it wasn't as bad as i thought, I can't wait to take them on when i've got a twin turbo set up in there

2nd race was between the mustang gt and the v8 laredo. The laredo jumped from the line and kept pulling until maybe 50-60 until they kept even and finally he slowed down because he had to merge into one lane and we were supposed to be following the mustang.

3rd race was between me and the accord, i've posted about racing him before so it was basically the same "we stay even until about 30 miles per hour and i just run from there"

We had a fun night overall, never got to the party (cops) but wound up crashing at my place. I was aching for a highway race all night though, thats where the car runs strongly.

(post edited out questions of the mustang gt, thanks for answering the questions)

Re: fun night out

thats what i wound up figuring, the exhaust note was deep as hell but i never bothered to ask her to pop the hood. now i feel lots better about it all, sorry for the ignorance about the gt, my knowledge is close to none on modern day domestics so I'm always happy to learn more.

Also, there is a lot of hybrid nonsense going around in my town such as a mustang with full body kit and some kind of GT tag on the sideskirts, his was a v6 so i've been under the influence that the gt was just a v6 with higher flowing and better operating performance parts stock. I think that will be the last time i listen to anyone who goes to autozone to find the sweetest looking emblem to put on his car so he can "intimidate the opposition"

I've been an import lover thus far but i think i've got a big crush on domestics as well now.

Re: fun night out

As for the v6 GT thing, can a v6 be a GT? There is this girl and her parents got her an 01 v6 and it has a gt suspension, ground effects, ect. on it. I talked to her mom and she said it's a special thing you get through ford. From what I hear, lots of people do this. So is it a v6 GT, or does it need to have the v8?

Re: fun night out

well a gt is a V8 but you can prolly order the body kit and hood and put it on a v6. which then i guess you'd call it a gt clone.

Re: fun night out

i've actually seen a all-out V6 mustang with just a GT rear bumper...it loooked pretty bad...lol but yea...i think ur V6 with a full GT kit (suspension and all) would be considered a clone...kind of like the mitsu lancers they have with evo kits n wheels

Re: fun night out

exactly...if it was a V6 then you'd have definately beaten it...i drive around in an 89 max n i've beaten like a 00 or 01 V6 mustang...then again i'm a 5 speed and it was a auto...that was back when i had a tranny that waz goin to da sh*tz n i couldn't get it to chirp second like at all...now, after i put in a used tranny, even with brand new tires i chirp second all the time...either way u'd have beaten a V6 Mustang
