I have a 2003 Crown Vic. It had 23 miles when I purchase it, (now 1546 miles) and upon starting the engine I hear this noise.

It sounds like the Oil Pump is NOT working for about 3-5 seconds then it kicks in and the noise goes away.

I took it back to the Ford Dealership and they indicated that this is normal for the length of time it is occuring.

It sounds like metal to metal. I'm afraid that this will continue and cause other issues down the road.

Does anyone have this issue OR have heard about it?

Thanks

Buy a new ignition switch with key at the ford dealer. Or try a junk yard for used switch that has a key to match.

Good Luck,
