J30 Vs 04 Civic Ex
ok everyone, before i unplug this thing and get it packed up before ivan strikes, i wanted to tell you what happened earlier today.
We're all making our last stops to get supplies (mobile, al) because ivan should hit tomarrow or thursday. I'm at the red light towards the airport. (opposite direction from home going to give my girl some private time before the hurricane and stop by the grocery store afterwards) anyway, a brand new 04 ex civic pulls beside me. i had my system up, but he motioned to me to roll down window, so i did. he wasn't a ricer guy, pure stock and i go to college with him. he reconised my car and went "billy, wanna race to baker? it's a 2 lane to one and no one's on the road" well i went "sure" and he revved his 1.7 liter 127hp and i just stood still. light goes green and i floor it... by 65mph i'm 4 lengths in front and easilly merge into his lane (the left lane) after we go to the next light he get's in the turn lane and goes "man, you weren't kidding in class about that thing. We should do that again sometime" and turns. It was the first civic i've ever raced stock for stock, and i smoked him. He's in my small group discussion class and i talk about my races before class starts. but yea, i won! yay for me! now i'm going to turn this thing off and get the rest of the doors and windows boarded up. Wish me luck on this and if you don't hear from me after this... well... it's been fun everyone and RACE ON!!! !Killah |

aftermath!
well, we're like the very few that have power and cable now (didn't have it for like a day.... we are so lucky) so i'm back on here... my girlfriend is pissed because she still won't have power till past monday, and is getting on my nerves because she thinks i'm rubbing it in when i mention getting something out of the fridge... argh... women... can't live with them, and can't kill them. But... roads are still hectic, so no driving for me in my lil car... dad's f150 though... maybe i'll convice my dad to smoke another import if they keep weeving in and out of traffic... but doubt it because of the weather. we rode it out and came out ontop... very lucky are we. anyone else here meet ivan? |

I met a tiny fraction of Ivan and it was still strong. I mean we had like 40mph winds and were flooding a bit around here. Pretty hard to beleive when I live about a couple of miles away from the very tip of the hurricane.
Didnt have to wash the car though, all the tree sap is off of it, lol. ![]() EDIT: Whoops meh bad, forgot to say good KILL

It got cloudy for 1/2 a day. I got Frances though. It rained for like 4 days. I alomst lost my car. It was parked in the garage when a tree broke off and fell on the garage. Luckily the trusses are strong. My heart stopped. Good kill. I'm glad to see he had respect. Props.

Mobile got a direct hit which is around 40 miles east of me. In my area it surprisingly wasn't that bad. We got some very strong wind gusts and a tree fell on my house, but there wasn't much rain and the tree didn't do much damage, so meh. I say it was alot better then it coulda been.
