Echo tears apart a VW Golf

Earlier today after school......i went my usual route back home and i noticed a Jet Black Golf with Rims riding my ass, Because i suffer from an untreatable case of Road rage i speed up and switch to the leftmost lane and allow the Golf to pass me... WE arrived just in time to catch the red light at the 7-11 and i realize its a Senior from my school.

The car looked pretty tricked out along with the rims he had a nice 2" exhuast that kept burbling...I rev my little 4-banger and he looks over at me like i have COCK written on my forehead(probally cuz i was revving a Damn ECHO)...He gave me a slightly evil grin and almost too quickly the green flight popped on and we bothed mashed the gas pedal....we where about even when i heard a deeply feared hiss as he slid into 2nd..
Realizing i was up against a blown Golf i redline the Echo and dropped into 3rd when my Turbo finally kicked in sending me past the speeding Golf as i quickly cut over.

The Look he gave me at the next light was pure shock and disbelief. I guess he wanted another serving cuz as soon as the light switched to green he gunned it...The Lanes began to merge and i was reluctant to give him the right of way.. I dropped down a gear and slid past him as he jammed on his brakes to let me by.... i Took off-ramp to the high way and he simply kept on driving straight probbaly a little pissed he got owned by an Econobox on steroids

Nice kill. You must own one of the 5 turbo echos in the country. Talk about sleeper...

My honda may have less displacement than your coke bottle, but I'll race your coke bottle for $1000. Who says there's no replacement for displacement?

Re: Echo tears apart a VW Golf

Did you know if it was a TDI or a 1.8T and if it was a 1.8T if it wasn't 01 or higher you were racing a 150 hp Golf which isn't much of a challenge but anyway good kill. If it was a TDI he had a lot more tq but only 90hp.
I do believe that the 01 golf has 180hp and the golf's and Jetta 1.8T's after wards had 180hp. How much was the turbo for your Echo that's pretty freakin unique.

I believe the Turbocharger with the kit cost around 2300-3156 dollars which was completly custom fitted...The guy told me it was made for a 1990-1993 MR2 and theres another guy who lives in Manchester that also has a Turbo Echo thats pushing somewhere around 190HP
