M3rc3d3s B3nz 300D turbo desiel

ok i got me a 300D turbo 2.5 liter desiel, 32 miles a gallon for christmas in exelent shape. 240 thousand miles or so on it havent checked in last day or 2. my problem is there are all these cars at my school that like kick ass performance wise. i take my benz on sharp turns at high speeds and it does good, (very good i may add) i tried to race some pussy honda and it about kicked my ass . obviously i need some work on it. there is a turbo delay, acceration aint bad at all after 2500 rpm and the turbo kit goes "oh ya im supposed to work now" and it gets the hell up and goes good, but the delay is good enough to let me loose, also there is automatic transmission in it can get boring. i need to put a manual transmission, blowoff vent, and figure out some way to get the turbo delay 100% gone. is there anyway turbo delay can go away? or can i buy something to replace my current turbo. any ideas? not everyone laugh at 1 time lmao

Well your turbo delay is called turbo lag. And you can never get rid of 100% of it. My suggestion is get something else because that car is just not made to go fast. I mean could you make it fast...yes but its going to cost you thousands of dollars.

But back to the thread, good luck with that turbodiesel Mercedes. My friend had one (a 190e i think) and whenever it approached, we joked and said it sounded like a UPS truck...lol. Really, it would be tough to extract any sort of performance out of it, simply because there is little or no aftermarket for it. Notice I didn't say because it was meant to be an economical vehicle, look at the 400 bhp civic hatchbacks around. If you want to work with your car and eventually build something that is somewhat quick, get a Honda. No joke.

Theoretically, you COULD upgrade your turbo and fuel delivery system, since your block is already boost-ready. However, that would rrequire quite a bit of know-how, and no offence, it doesn't seem like you know much about cars.

well i dont want a hon-duh, there shitty and last 2 years, im probably gonna give this benz to my grand kids, i know allot about cars and engines for my age im not bad at all on it, i dont know allot about how u ppl get allot of performance out of them thats why im willing to learn, im no noob but thanks

are you serious...i mean...honestly... honda? 2 years?... i think he wants to be banded...my dad has a 94 accord... btw its honda if you don't know... and its lasted til 04 and is runnin good... so do the math..thats 10 years

As for the benz, ya its diesel..ya it will last probably another 100k miles, but you are talking about performance. Its cheaper to sell teh car and get something that has more aftermarket and cheaper aftermarket prices than to try and upgrade your benz.

It's good that your willing to learn, but if your willing to learn, you have to accept suggestions and comments.
