89 Max vs. Mitsu
too bad this race couldn't have happened NEXT weekend...my brand new y-pipe and higher flowin catalytic converter should be here tomorrow...but n e way! i saw this late-80s mitsubishi...looked like a old diamante or galant...im not sure which...with a about 3" resonator muffler on it...the guy had 3 other people in da car with him...1 guy n 2 girls...most likely their girlfriends. i saw them inchin up slowly...so i knew they wanted to race...i inched up slowly too (i have a 5-speed wit a DTM-style exhaust, and right now, a leak at my flex tubing...so my car is louder than it should be) light goes green, i start to take off normally, and i hear him spin tires...it sounds as if he's got some type of engine work done...it just sounds too crisp...so i press da gas all the way to the floor somewhat slowly, so i dont spin tires, and tear off...i hit second hard but not the hardest i've done, cuz i can't hear his engine right there, but i still chirp the tires n keep acceleratin n slow down for the next red light...but there are a few people in line infront of both of us...i slowed down early n they pull up next to me n all 4 of them look over and the 2 guys nodded their heads so i nodded mine back. light goes green again so the guy spins his tires again so i just keep accelerating normally. i get over to turn into the gas station right there n the guy gets over the lane i was just in, behind me, so i think he's gonna stop n talk or try to get me to race again...but he stays on the gas n keeps goin...o well, i had fun showin him up infront of his girlfriend...just like the last guy! haha
