gas guage trouble - 93 fox

The strangest parts are going bad in my car! Wondering if anyone has similar experiences and knows where to find parts. (the junk yards around me just crushed thier only fox)

The gas gauge used to make noises and jump when car was cold - now it does not register anything at all.

Avoid spending ANY money on the float assembly or anything other than the dash. The dashes in these cars were soldered with weak flux solder. If you can, get the dash out and have it RESOLDERED.I did mine myself with an electronics solder gun I bought at radio shack.Anything you see that scares you.. I'd buy a BENTLEY manual. Its easier to do with that. Thank you, good luck.
