I have a 1995 Chev Lumina sedan with daytime running lights(DRL). Last week the lighting for the instrument panel to illuminate the guages at night stopped working. Checked 15Afuse (#28), looks fine. Other lights on same fuse are working ( dome, glovebox, mirror map lights, etc.). Tore out dash cover and glass cover. Pulled instrument panel out as far as I could( restricted by gear shift indicator cable) and removed (twisted) all three bulb housings from back of circuit board to inspect. All filaments intact and no sign of burn out. I assume if one bulb had burned out, should still have some light from remaining two bulbs. This evening used headlamp switch to manually turn on lowbeams (normally done by DRL sensor), but panel lights still failed to illuminate.
Any assistance or reference to other threads would be appreciated. |

Re: Lumina Instrument Panel Lighting Failure
I'm not sure about if your switch is in the same place as mine, but it sounds like your parking light switch has gone to the metal graveyard. When you turn your lowbeams on, check to see if your tail lights are on too. I'd almost bet they aren't.
