1953 ford f-100

I have a 1953 ford f-100 in extremly bad shape and I want to bring it back to life so it can kill some crappy imports. However I cannot find anywhere decent to find parts Basiclly the whole truck needs attention. It does run but poorly. My plans include ditching the rusty 302 for something along the lines of a 427. Any body have any ideas.

P.s I am starting a hot rod club soon any takers?

hey i got a 55 ford f100 so i had the same problem you had, i can give you some websites to check out. one site i like for parts is, www.blueovaltruckparts.com its a good site im going to order quite a few items for my 55 from there. jegs.com is a good place for engines and other popular parts but not really good for those small parts you cant find. If you are thinking about painting the chasis go with por-15 chasis paint, its expensive but works good i just painted my chasis with it. www.concoursparts.com is a great site go to it and order a catalog, i ordered one and it has damn near every single part/replacement panel i or you would need. check those sites out, if you need more ideas my aim screen name is jlz1986usmc instant message me if you like.
