Sunvisor (narrow strip) around the entire visor

Hey there fello Aurora's... The strip around the visor has become loose and The elastic has gone out of it. Whats the skinny on the strip? I noticed this when I wanted to put (registration ) slip inside but the strap fell loose.

Same thing happened to mine. Hot/Cold and they lost their elasticity (I never actually used them). So, I simply fold mine over and put the visor in the stowed postion. Cosmetically, it looks fine. Of course there's no utility to them now.

Thanks! I thought about just cutting them @ the ends...Then, when the visor is down for its intended use the (strap) won't flap & hang low :-)

I cut mine off with an exacto knife, then picked all the little strings that were dangling with my fingers or tweezers.

Hey that sound like a bummer, having those loose ends to tweeze out. I
thought bout cutting but if it frizzles then I don't want to take a chance on cutting too close to the Upolstry of the visor. I'll leave it alone for now.

This annoying elastic can be easily removed.
Carefully take a sharp razor blade and surgically cut the stitching where it enters the visor on booth sides. You can tuck any excess elastic into the slot if needed or your affreid to cut the stitching.

Be very precise and you will think your in a new car.

I wasn't exactly gentle with it. I yanked out on it pretty hard to get it taut, then just barely had to touch the blade to it to get it to cut. That upholstery on the visor is pretty tough stuff.

Mine simply had to go after my wife tried tucking something up in it and stretched it out to a couple of feet long
