Power antenna
Has anyone ever taken a power antenna out of a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2, don't think that really matters but anyways, a tree ripped my antenna off while 4 wheeling, and I have the Haynes manual but god damn that thing is no help, with this, I cannot find the Antenna Ele. Connector, and Antenna wire to d/c them. to pull if off. it says to take the Pass. kick panel off and d/c the wires, but there are like a hundred wires and I cannot find the Ele. Harness connector and Antenna wire itself. maybe there is something else I have to take out or it is hidden or something. well any info would help.

Re: Power antenna
Hey if im thinking right what you need to do is have somone cut the ing switch on so the attn goes up or at least it would if you had one then unscrew the locking nut thats at the base of the attn and pull it off then with a swift upward yank pull it out of the base the left over mast that is. you may have to use a pair of needle nose plyers to get a hold of it to yank it out with then go to your local auto supply and get the replacement power attn mast it will have the instructions on how to replace the new one pretty easy TIP: when you pull the old mast out look at which way the teeth on the white gear strip is pointing that should come out with the old mast. on the power attns on the jeeps you dont have to replace the hole thing you can replace just the mast.good luck its realy a easy job.

I just replaced one about 9 months ago on a 94 GC 5.2. The cable located behind the kick panel on the P/S as the manual says. The box is under the fender, I had the fender off so it was very easy to take off but the cable is two pieces (and hard to separate without the right tool). One end comes from the stereo to the P/S and just before it passes from behind the kick pannel into the fire wall it has a connector (chrome looking tube about 1 and a half inches long) to the line coming off of the antenna box. They look much like any other antenna cable, the antenna power conector is under the fender IIRC. I also kinda remember a brace from the box to the inner fender that had a small bolt or screw. I think you can get to it by taking the plastic inner fender panel/skirt thingy off.

Re: Power antenna
VBeachGC, I have already taken the motor off and it is hanging around, but I could not locate the Antenna Cable and Electric Connector in the Kick Panel.
Anyways, KRM, you are saying I do not have to take the whole Motor out, i can just replace the Mast itself, without having to go thu all this BS. Thanks I need a pic of the Vacuum Harness from a 93 or 94 Jrrrp Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2L. it is the Vacuum Harness that connects to the Purge Solenoid,, Egr Valve, Intake Manifold, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Throttle Body, etc.... someone please send me a pic Joe [email protected] |

They are behind that panel and I think there is also a shiny metal box (computer or something) that is in the way. They are way up high by the firewall. The antanna cable comes from high in the dash along the windshield and drops down a little before going through the firewall. The electrical conector goes through the same hole. I will get the pics (of the vacuum harness)for you tomorrow. I can host them on my photobucket account if you like and just post the links or email them as jpg's.Or I could just post them to this thread right?
