Just to continue a discussion about the times the WRX will run as in the 1/4 mile section.
Just picked up a mag in Australia testing the Sti (02 model 265.2Hp 95ron fuel) and the Evo VI and VII (Both 280Hp 95ron fuel). The times were to the 1/4 mile- Sti 14.14 @ 95mph the Evo VI 13.58 @ 102mph and the Evo VII 14.38 @ 95.5mph. The Evo VII is still to be run in so they expect times of around the high 13s even though it is 308 pounds heavier than the VI, but the Sti what a disappointment. The new (02) 217.6Hp WRX runs 15s. Now who was it who said that a 14.2 would not run with these cars. I beg to differ:flash: Just for fun here are some 0 - 126 mph or 200 kph. 911GT2 13.1secs, 550Maranello 14.6secs, SL55 AMG 13.7secs, Lambo 11.4 now thats fast.

I'm pretty disappointed with the WRX's performance too.
I was at the Subaru dealership a couple weeks ago, and the salesman told me the price tag on the STi was going to be around $70 000 Canadian!! I would expect better peformance from a car in which I would be paying so much for. I would WAY rather get an Evo VI or Evo VII anyways.

I thought you guys were getting the Evo's in 2003 or something.
That's what I heard at least.

I DID NOT KNOW
I forget that the US compliancing laws are so strict. A local company of ours holden (a branch of general motors) are at the moment changing a local V8 to complie with the tough laws of the US. It is a chevy V8 sedan with an optional 306hp, 346hp or 408hp engines, It will also come in a two door as early as this year. They have to move the petrol tank slightly and redesign the front and rear end slightly to meet your crash protection standards. It has been tested lately as your new Highway Patrol cars and so far they love it.
Also a local V8 utility is to be exported to replace the out dated Chevy El camino carrying around a 346hp engine. The 408hp sedan is good for 13s and you can expect to pay between $55,000 to $65,000 US for one. OZ Mitsubishi has been importing the Evo since the VI was released but you can get any of the models from in they grey import sector. In OZ the (02) STi retails for $55,000 AUS or $28,500 US and the Evos are $80,000 AUS or $43,000 US. Hope you guys get the Aussie V8s soon, then you can drive a bloody good car. They havent been badged yet but you can expect to see a chevy badge on there somewhere :flash:
