stock psi 2g Talon TSI AWD

i searched...NOTHING, i can get all the hp ratings ...quarter mile ratings...but nothing on the stock psi...

someone told me it was 8psi, and i was thinking that was what the 1g's ran at 8 seems ridiculously low for the size of the turbo making that much power, i was pretty sure the 2g's were at 11psi or so, 12psi restricted by the BOV if u remove the MBC thing i'm trying to get my facts straight and i like to be right, but if i'm wrong...show me the way

Re: stock psi 2g Talon TSI AWD

I boosted 12 psi on the stock BCS and 2g bov. With my 1g bov and stock BCS I boosted to 15 psi.

Re: stock psi 2g Talon TSI AWD

I believe that the stock BCS prohibits boost from staying at levels higher than 15 psi. As far as what every car runs from the factory, I say they all run differently. Why?

Because all 2g bovs leak at different levels IMO! They are plastic pieces of crap, and depending on how much your stock bov leaks, you will be able to retain more or less boost accordingly. That's why you see Dupe say 11, I say 12, JoeWagon might say 13, Kevin might say his was originally 9.

Mine was 9, maybe the BCS was messed up. All in all, it doesn't really matter what your car used to be. Once you get the MBC get to 15 and call it a day.

Re: stock psi 2g Talon TSI AWD

My car did 14-15 psi stock everything. I raised it over 20 but on the T25 boost will always fall to ~14 psi or less by 5500 rpm. Stock boost for the t25 is ~7 psi by the wastegate actuator spring, but the ECU and BCS bump it up to 14-15. I believe its supposed to be 14.8, though it seems odd that it would be speced out to tenths of a psi. The 1g has a 9-10 psi actuator, and the BCS holds it at ~11 psi stock.

This is what it SHOULD be. There are various factors that can affect things, not the least of which is the variance between different boost guages

Re: stock psi 2g Talon TSI AWD

thats exactly what my 96 gsx does, it hits 20psi and slowly lowers and holds at 14psi @ 5800. thats even with my current mods. im going to need to fix that.

Re: stock psi 2g Talon TSI AWD

Bigger turbo fixes it nicely My 14b would hold ~24 psi to redline.
