Rusty Gas Tank
Gosh!!! People must not be having problems any more. I picked up a '93 Merceded 230E, gray market car, that had been sitting for 4 years with a bad fuel pump and damaged wiring an idiot mechanic tried to fix. I cut open the tank to get to the synthetic air vent canister and the rediculous anti-slosh canister and filter system. I've sand blasted it but, the humidity has been terrible and it will rust even under the coating of oil. I am leary of some marketed repair kits because of the intricacy of the vent and fuel exit system getting clogged. Any suggestions, besides the ungodly priced new tank?
Thanks! |

Re: Rusty Gas Tank
This is a Nissan Xterra forum.
That said, this is probably the way to go: http://www.por15.com/tankseal_fuelpreserve.html Site seems to be on the blink at the moment, this should give you an idea of what it is though: http://www.canada-por15.com/por-15-tank-sealer.htm Brent |
