200k miles on 4th gen-options on engine work
i have a 92 accord. it has 200,000 miles on it and when i bought it the clock had 190,000 miles on it. the seller told me that it had a rebuilt engine in it but had no paper work to prove it. according to the seller it had 94,000 miles on it. is there any way to find out if it was rebuilt and if not what can i do to protect the life of the vehicle or as far as engine mods go. i put some work into it and would like to keep it as a toy/hobby car. it looks really pretty and runs like a monster.

ask the seller what was rebuilt - head, block etc. then take your information to an automotive engine machine shop. they will be able to test/measure parts and clearances and tell you if the parts are new, used, or dead.
might not tell you how many miles on the engine, but the wear on the parts can tell you if they are original or have been replaced/repaired. |
