'97 Cavalier Wiper Arm Removal - Help!

I need to remove my wiper arms from the shaft on my '97 Cavalier to paint them and have no clue how they come off. Has anyone here removed theirs that can give some advice? Thanks! Bill

i just did it. i used a brass hammer and hit the top of the bolt while prying up at the same time. i first tried to just pry and ended up breaking my windshield!

Go down to the local auto parts and buy a battery terminal puller.
With some finagelling you can get it over the wiperarm and use it to pull the arm off the splines. A lot cheaper than a windshield!
