b/w version

i did this b/w version first. this is the one used for the agency's project. i then took the original *line* (not tone) drawing of it, months later, xeroxed it, and colored it for use as a self-promo sample for my agent at the time. i kind of like both color and b/w versions; you can see subtle differences in the renderings, as i re-rendered the color one, ie, did not slap color over the b/w tone drawing. yes, i am a masochist.

Re: VW bus_hey lemorris take a lookee

i just noticed that i redrew the headlights on the color drawing higher above the bumper. the memory is coming back to me now. i think i looked at a reference of an actual bus only after i completely finished the black and white drawing. on the color one, then, i discovered that the lights are higher than what i thought. and in general, i created what i thought the bus looked like, on both drawings, rather than what it actually is. i *think* this is what i did. i think i had no time to even take a shyt during this job, so i just had to shoot from the hip, as it were.

i'm too tired and lazy to reference a vw bus right now to test my theory of my memory, so lemorris can chime in and crit the living hell out these. or anyone can! have fun.

Cool! Its like a spot the difference quiz!! There are quite a few changes on the VW. On the colour one the bumper doesn't reach the wheel, the door has hinges and doesn't goto the bottom of the body and the bloke in the back hasn't got sun glasses on. I think the b/w one's better aswell.

The shadow on the neck of the creepy guy in the froground is different, and his pants have a stripe in the b/w version.

The design on the can he's holding is different, as well as the cloud formations.

I love it!!

The color version has all the nuances of the black and white...very nice.

You have an amazing grasp of perspective i.e. forshortening and atmosphere.

The dude chillin in the bus cracks me up.

Thanks man.
