98 Lumina timing chain
Just had a question regarding 1998 chevy lumina. It has 95,000 miles on it and runs really well. I've never replaced the timing chain. I've heard this should be replaced at 60 or 70,000 miles. Do I need to do this even if the car is running well???

Re: 98 Lumina timing chain
nah, don't worry about it. As far as I understand, the chain is meant to last the life of the engine.

Re: 98 Lumina timing chain
Its the 3.4 DOHC engines that need the timing belt replaced at 60k...or so they say. In reality, the belt should be done sooner, but if you have a chain, then don't worry about it. More trouble than it'd be worth this early. And chains last a nice, long time.
