TECH help 2003 Cummins Diesel Dies in the rain
We have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 With a Cummins Diesel, 43,000 miles, had a problem with the engine going to a low idle and would just die, dealer replaced fuel punp, 3,000 miles later...If it rains after a while the truck will sputter terribly and the check enhine light comes on, the water in fuel light has not ever come on. This has happened across the country in wet weather, rain or snow. So we have ruled out bad fuel from any particular station. If the weather is dry all is well...The dealer has taken off the fuel tank, but it's okay....Dealer can't seem to find anything... What can we do, where to look ? ANY/ ALL suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks ~ Gary [email protected] |

sounds like the injection pump; if that's ok, make sure your air filter and tubing going to the filter is ok; i.e. turbo tubing, etc.

Re: TECH help 2003 Cummins Diesel Dies in the rain
I fixed mine it was the filter tubing , i took a spray bottle from a dollar store and put water in it and turned on the truck then started to spray the tubing and things i thought could have been the problem as soon as i sprayed the intake tube it started to rumble and died.
