Thumbs down Need Help

Hey everyone,

I would bore you if I gave you the whole story, but I’ll give you the short version, I definitely need help. Four months ago, I got a ticket, in (Canada) 11 points in one ticket, I was going a 147km/h in a 50km/h speed zone, got the ticket, and because I’m a new driver, my license was suspended. I took the time to re do my interior, dash, re wire everything, and it was about three months into my four months suspension, and I drove, just to the corner store, was caught driving, and now my license is gone for a year. My car, up until that ticket, was my life, I picked the car up for 600 bucks, and put my heart and soul into it. It needs a lot more work, its an 81 Pontiac Pariasianne, so the motor needs to be rebuilt, paint bodywork, tires, and an alignment, rear springs, there collapsed just worn out, new window motors (all 4), new door hinges, just a lot of work, and I don’t know if I should leave it parked for a year, or sell it, and buy another car. There is a guy up the road from me that would sell me his cutlass a 84 cutlass with T TOPS (SO RARE), rebuilt 305, for 2200 bucks, but I love my car, and I am stuck on what I should do, and if I didn’t end up buying the cutlass, I don’t know what else I would buy? So just looking for some tips? I got court coming up in a week, so if any of you have been in a similar circumstance, I’d appreciate the help, thanks for the help.

Ok, so your first ticket is MPH equivilant of a 90mph in a 30mph zone... bad bad bad...

What were you doing to get caught the second time?

More than likely this drive to the corner store wasn't your first time driving on a suspended license, you just got caught that time =P

Also, why are cars so expensive in canada? ($?)2200 for a cutlass?

If your car needs a new motor on top of things, I would say it is time to part ways. It looks like a delta 88, its not a collectors car by any means. Good luck with selling it. Try to find something may be a little smaller, with less problems and better gas mileage. A diesel jetta or a honda perhaps. Just something with dependability. It feels so much better to drop money down for 30-40mpg, then to 12mpg. My first car was a mazda 929. Ok, for gas mileage, nothing spectacular (like 25mpg highway) On my old fiero it was 38 mpg highway, motor swap now down to 23mpg highway. If you're going to go for a huge '80's american car, try going for something that might appreciate, like a monte carlo SS or along those lines.
