Wiper and start problem...

I have a 96 3.0 V6. During normal driving, the front wipers would occasionally come on for a few cycles and stop by themselves. After about two weeks of that the car would not start after driving it to work. You can hear the starter relay click and a quick chatter from the starter. However when the key was in the start position, the wipers came on and continued to run even after the key was removed. I disconnected the battery and several hours later came out to tow the car, hooked up the battery and tried to start it and it started.
I ran it for about a week after having had the starter checked, (supposedly fine), and disconnecting the battery each time that the car was stopped. At last, it has finally refused to start. Again the windshield wipers come on when you attempt to start the car and run until the battery is disconnected.

Off hand, it sounds like your Body Control Module (BCM) is gimp.

First, you need to get any diagnostic fault codes stored in the computer. To do that, you'll need an ODB reader (cars '96 and later) or go to an Autozone who will do this for you.
