Jetta IV VR6 SRS light on
On my 99 VR6, the airbig light is on. Both driver and passenger airbags are ok (removed them to check the back side; I know that the connectors melt if they were deployed - so both are ok). Also the testing current is ok (I checked if the control module sends a pulse by removing the airbag connectors from the airbags and attaching them to an voltage meter). The vehicle is equipped with side airbags and at least optically they seem to be ok too, no deconnected cables or whatsoever. Control module under the IP in front of there shifter is in its place. What I know is that the airbags have been stolen out of this vehicle while it still belonged to the previous owner, so the ones installed must be replacements.
Can anybody give me a hint what else I need to check out? Is there a side impact sensor and if so, where is it located? Thanks for any help! |

Re: Jetta IV VR6 SRS light on
The best thing to do is have the trouble codes read as there can be alot of different things that could be the problem. You need a VAG scanner or simulator to read the air bag codes.
