99-00 headlight question

I have a 2000 civic and have been having the same problem as a lot of you guys, with my headlights getting foggy. I have tried many different things to try and cear them up, but that will only go so far. Now I know that JDM headlights are crazy expensive, but are they glass or plastic?? If they're glass I'll happily drop the coin to get them so as to not have to spend countless hours trying to clear up my existing headligts as they will never clear up enough. Thanks for any and all help.

Its still plastic. Even if its glass it'll still fog up. Anyways if you do decide to get the CTR headlights , all i can say is just becareful with the seals.

The best solution I've found is to leave the rubber caps slightly off the back of them, but pop them back on during car washes and stuff.

What have you used to clean it up? or tried to at least.

Clean what up, the water? It will evaporate out the back..
Or are you saying the actual headlights are hazing?

ok they are hazing. They are starting to get that foggy look to them before they start to turn yellow. I've tried 4k grit sandpaper, rubbing compound, polishing compound, clearcoat paint, 12k grit modeling polish, high speed buffing, acetone, and waxing. I've been lucky as I have been able to find donor headlights to replace them for very cheap. I figured if I could get them in glass, they wouldn't haze up on me. oh well.

nah they don't make them (or any headlight) in glass because one nicely placed rock could destroy it..

Not for 6th gens. But all 5th gen Civics have true glass headlight lenses. Interesting enough though, JDM 5th gen headlights have a plastic lense. Not sure why they are different there.
