slow wipers
I have a 92 prelude I have noticed how slow the wipers are even when at full speed. Its not a problem with the motor or anything just a slight flaw. They seem to go at a medium speed. I was driving on the highway yesterday, its pouring rain and the wipers are going sooo slow. On any other car the speed would be medium.
Does any one else have this grievance or have noticed this. just curious |

Re: slow wipers
How long since you replaced your wiper blades? if its old, dried and hard, maybe a new flexible one may help.
Also on my old 1987 Toyota corolla, the wipers would be so weak and would stop working. I'd have to get out and push it or nudge and it'll start. Even over bumps it would stop and start again. Thought it was the blades, or motor, or wiper switch. Later I found that the nut that bolts down the each wiper arm to the chassis was loose. So I tightened it. Then it worked like brand new. After years 10+ years of wiper use, I guess the bolt that held down the wiper arms got loose and the wiper motor couldn't turn it correctly because of that. Just get a 10,12,13mm socket (don't remember) and hold down the lower wiper arm with one hand to keep it from moving and the other hand to tighten it if it's loose. Then do the same to the next wiper arm, but don't over tighten. I'd never thought loose bolts would cause such a problem. I hope this helps and makes sense. Hopefully that would be your problem and no repair bills. |
