Re: low on $$$ but want high power help!!!
I hate to say this but you bought bulbs without checking to see if they are a direct swapout?
CAI and exhaust will get you about 10HP at best. Turbo will get you good HP. You didn't say how many miles on the engine which would help with a decision on engine swap versus a low mileage engine that is in good shape to handle boosting. |

If the bulb fits the harness, Yes it would work. But to get maximum brightness? Probably not if its a HID bulb. To get maximum brightness on HID bulbs you will need a HID conversion kit, they pack extra watts to the light and make it much brighter. And then you have to check the K, standard bulbs are around 3000k - 4000k that's perdy much Yellowish tint, 6000k is day light (white with slight yellow) and then 8000K+ is blue
As for cheap upgrade for your Accord, I would get one of those 4-2-1 headers from ebay they goes for less than $100 now a day and remember to keep the original manifold, you may need it for the smog check. Then there's air intake. You can just take out the OEM airbox in the hood and replace an air intake. I didn't bother to buy the arm for it, I just put the filter right at the tip of the stock intake arm. Then there's muffler, but don't mess with your catalytic converter, you won't pass smog check and kills alot of gas money. And lastly is Rims and tires. They do help on traction and handling, specially on the wet road. The wider the tires the better the grip, but if you get the tires too wide and too large, you won't be able to lower your car's suspension. Those are just the basic upgrades, it doesn't mean that you can beat a Nissan Maxima lol but its hella fun to install them and drive around. Lots of joy pride!!

Re: low on $$$ but want high power help!!!
Speed costs money. The cheapest way to add power is to lose weight, removal of back seat, spare tire, etc.
Nitrous Oxide is the best bang for the buck if used properly. You could spend over a thousand dollars on an intake, exhaust, header and only gain 20HP max. If you wondering how to use nitrous properly, buy a book & read it. There are many Nitrous based books on the market. |

Don't forget brake rotors, pads, and stainless steel brakelines to help slow you down!

Re: low on $$$ but want high power help!!!
"high power" = "high cost"....there's just no way around that....
nitrous would be your best bang for the buck, but even that is going to get expensive . You're venturing into a very expensive hoby, just so you know ![]() You've been warned ![]() - Nathan |
