żbattery problem?

Has anyone else experienced this problem with their blazer...?

the last night a arrived to my house and turn off my blazer, 1 hour later I decided to leave but my blazer won't start.

The interior lights were poor, athought the battery was wrong and i decided to jump to turn on. my blazer won´t start

i called to my mechanics and all he did was to jump my blazer and it turn on.

He told me the battery was wrong and told me don´t turn off in this moment, wait 20 minutes and then turn off.

I did it but the blazer doesnt turn on and the interior lights were poor too.

i tried to turn on three times more but i couldn´t turn on the blazer.

I went to sleep.

The next day in the morning, i tried to turn on the car and !!! the blazer turn on normal", turn off and turn on and all was ok, it appears nothing was happen the last night. I thought to change my battery but idon´t know if it is the cause of the problem or if i have to review something more.

(the night it happens, i was using the cassete radio, lights and air condition)

Re: żbattery problem?

If you have an orginal ACDelco battery, get rid of it because they leak acid from the positive terminal underneath causing corrosion of the Positive terminals. Make sure your terminals are CLEAN and tight. I can not stress that enough. Once connections are clean, then get it up to Advance Auto or Autozone and have your battery and Alternator tested for free. -Chris

Can you clarify this?

I can't make out what you are saying?

Turn on? What?

nomelif,
I had the Exact same occurance with my 95 Blazer. I went to sears and purchased a battery to install at home. When I arrived home, I Found the truck would start right up...As it was a hot spell, I realized I had the AC on Max the prior couple of days. I have since kept the AC to the normal position and have had no further problems..... I returned the battery to Sears and I have not had to jump it since.,

Re: żbattery problem?

Ok, I reread and now get your point of the post.

If you battery is stock, it is better that you replace it anyways. Batteries fade over time and it looks like yours is not up to the task.

Please remember to CHARGE the battery before you install it into the truck. The alternator's are not meant as a battery chager, but as a battery voltage maintainer.

On the other hand, I would get your alternator tested. I am thinking it is not charging properly and might need to be changed also.
