"I lost cause I didnt run the red light"

So i walk into work a few nights ago and a co-worker (Lets call him Rob)comes up to me and says "hey! 'Bob' and me raced the other night!" Now, "Bob" (another co-worker) has a 99 civic ex w/ the usual I/H/E and "Rob" has a Toyota Corolla LE (of all things...). Both are lowered w/ altezzas everywhere. Anywho, he explains the race to me. "It was about 1 in the morning and we had stopped at a light next to each other. We knew it was on right away. When It turned green, we took off. The race was perfectly even for about a block and a half until the next light 2 blocks ahead turned red. I braked for the light but he went right through it. He beat me because I didn't run the light."

this story was so idiotic i could only shake my head. I think thats ridiculous if "street" racing is becoming like this. Thats how people die.

a funny sidenote: Rob is 17 and bought this corolla le on his OWN credit. Hes gonna end up paying 29 g's for it. Also, Bob is 38 years old, thinks his civic is fast, and has more stickers than mods (howd that work out??)

yea, even me at 16 would know not to run a light, even if it was at 1 in the morning, people die that way.

or they go to jail, which would have been the best ending for this story. Street racing is dangerous, but running red lights is just plain retarted.

I hate it when people run red lights. I don't care what time in the morning it is, there is always someone out, and by ignoring that light, you could be endangering a life.

that was a fatal act and really shouldn't happen again, maybe you should talk to that person and let him know that his actions are what causes avoidable deaths, and give us street racers a bad name.
