I'm think about pruchasing a 95 max w/ 106k miles from the first owner. How reliable is this year of max after 100k? What things should I look for when I test drive the car to make sure that the car is worth owning? Any other advice would be much appriciated.

The reliability of any car at any mileage depends on how well the previous owner took care of it. If the car was well maintained, it should easily go to 200,000. What state is the car located?

Just as an example, my maxima has 228,xxx miles on it. My aunt was the original owner and put the first 190 or so on there. The car has had a well maintained life for quite some time. I like to think she was prepping it for the beating i give it
. It's been pretty problem free; a bad ball mount and worn struts. I'm satisfied.

Re: think about a 95 max
i bought a 1995 5 speed SE loaded at 98,000 milesw and it ran strong all the way to 167,000+ when i trade it in for my 2k2. My friend works at Mobil oil change express and he says that he has lots of 4th gen((95-99) maxima's come through with 200K+ miles.
