Tamiya metal plated body

Can anyone give me some insight into Tamiya's cars with metal plated bodies? Do they require the use of any special procedures or priming or painting, etc., or is it the same as working with a standard injection plastic body? Thanks for any help.

Re: Tamiya metal plated body

it's the same thing

those car was based for those that didn't want to paint the body, but they didn't even removed the mold line, so overal you need to sand those line and repaint the whole car

it's just a coat of Silver Leaf color

I honestly don't even know what the purpose of the metal plated body unless you don't paint it. Reason I say this is because you still have to sand off parting lines which screws up the metal plating. I asked once if I should buy the metal plated 350 Z or the regular one. Everyone told me if I was going to paint save my money and get the non-plated one. Hopfully this gives you something to use as far as reasoning goes.

Peace
Kevin
