Lightbulb What exhaust system to get?

I'm looking into a couple of exhaust systems right now, I've stopped on Greddy EVO and Apexi N1. I really don't want it to be loud, just make a nice deep sound. Also, I'd like to see some decent performace gains.
Which one would you suggest over those two, or would you suggest any others?

Thanks!

Of the two choices you named, I'd definitely go for the GReddy EVO. The Apex'i N1 has earned the reputation of one of the loudest exhausts money can buy! I'd also look into more sophisticated systems like the Mugen "twin loop" exhaust system (although it is very pricey - $975 last time I checked at King Motorsports), and knock off systems like the Mozart. Other brands have released twin loop exhausts now too, like DC Sports and Jackson Racing. And I know that twin loop systems sound great, as I have one myself.

Thanks. I ordered the Greddy Evo yesterday for $440 shipped. Not such a bad deal, I guess. I hope I like it.

Is the DC twin loop exhaust system any good for an ITR?

Not a clue. I haven’t seen any testing done for the system yet to illustrate power gains. Generally, unless they make a version specifically for the ITR, I wouldn’t go with it. Traditionally, versions made for the ITR feature better flow numbers to favor top end power, whereas versions for the GS-R would cater slightly more towards restriction to aid in mid range power enhancement.

Yeah, most likely, but can't say for sure. OEM Honda components are well-designed and manufactured with excellent quality control, much more so than most aftermarket companies. There have been cases where aftermarket headers have lost power over the stock ones, but I can't say I've ever seen similar results for exhausts themselves.

Iīve heard about the problems with aftermarket headers, too. Thatīs why I was asking about the DC exhaust! I think I will keep the engine and exhaust stock because IMO an ITR is anyways fast compared to most cars driving around over here! I just want something for a better sound but a CAI wonīt be street-legal. Maybe I should just wait till I got the car!?

And until the DC Sports TCS even comes out for Integras

Only out for Civics right now. Integra and RSX coming out sometime "early next year", so they (DC Sports) say....

Iīd guess that I will buy the car sometime "early next year" because exams are coming and I have to work over christmas. So itīll be just in time!

Yep, that's some good timing I anticipate the TCS being a good quality exhaust. It looks like it is very similar to the Mugen twin loop system. Just that the DC had the 2 canisters exposed while the Mugen has them enclosed in a muffler... But we will have to wait and see...

Yea, thatīs true. Iīm going to change the look, brakes and suspension at first anyways so it doesnīt matter if I have to wait for it!
