won't start/fuel pump

Update.. checked new fuel pump for power and it is in the wiring. Anyone know how hard it is to change or check this problem?

Another fuel pump problem...My Jimmy was having trouble with warm up and then it just died and won't start. There wasn't any gas through the gas line so we changed the pump. Get gas through the gas line but there is no noise through the pump and still won't start. Called the dealer and he said the wires were hooked up if the fuel gauge is working and I checked the fuses. There is gas past the fuel filter but not to the engine. I would take it to Auto Zone for a code reader but....don't have a tow truck.Any suggestions?

Hi, my hubby and i too have been having problems with our jimmy, at first they put a new fuel pump in and it ran for awhile, now its broke down again and they are saying its the wiring mechanism that goes with the fuel pump and we have to replace that, so its gonna be about 600$ for the whole job, if hubby and i didnt still owe on the jimmy i would unload it!! Have they said anything to you about that maybe being the problem with yours too?

Re: won't start/fuel pump

dbest -- here is a good suggestion: take your Jimmy to the middle of the woods in WV and light it on fire. Then, tell the insurance company that it was stolen!

Sorry, I often dream about that . . .

I have already thought about that....only burning it in my garage. But as we all know that is illegal. DARN

Who knows with this, I have read some horror stories. The plus that comes from the front of the Jimmy has no power, not in the fuel pump. We disconnected the plug from the pump and checked for juice. None. Well half the plug works, the wire that runs to my fuel tank is in the same plug-in. Anyway must be a short. I have a mechanic coming later today. I'll let you know if this one gets solved. Meanwhile, any other suggestions would be appreciated.
