Re: pathfinder's stock alarm
I think your keyless entry alarm is broken. The stealer (dealer) will charge you $80 and $40 for the "programming fee". Do what I did. Get the same remote on Ebay for $15 and then look up "nissan pathfinder and follow these instuctions. I can't believe the dealer charges $40 for this:
Every manufacturer has different means of programming for a replacement remote. The Nissan dealer has a choice of using a computer scan tool known as the Consult-II or the conventional method that you can do yourself. It's not too tough as long as you're using the correct remote. Get in the vehicle. Close and lock all doors utilizing the driver's power-door lock/unlock switch. Insert and remove the ignition key more than six times within a 10-second period (at a rate of one insertion/removal cycle per second). Don't rush the process, and be sure the key is completely withdrawn from the ignition-key cylinder each time it's removed. Turn the ignition to the ACC position and press any button on the remote one time. The hazard lights should flash twice, letting you know your mission is a success. If you were going to program more than one remote, you'd simply unlock and lock the doors once again with the driver's switch and press the one button, one time, on the second remote. The procedure is completed by turning the ignition off, unlocking with the driver's switch, and opening the driver's door. |

Re: pathfinder's stock alarm
I just purchased a 95 XE and the remote wasn't working. I replaced the battery in the remote itself, and tried the key in the ignition more than six times method as well as the brain under the drivers seat method, neither worked. I found a Nissan Dealership who said they'd program the remote for free, but four different techs and four different methods later I still don't have a remote that works. The dealer even brought out a brand new remote and the techs could not program the new remote to my 95 Pathfinder. I'm hearing of sometype of fuse somewhere to the alarm, where might that be ? I've checked the fuse box but did not see it, any suggestions ?
