so how much of a gain should i expect to see in my d16a6 with a new cam? nothing too aggressive but more so than stock, mated up with the few light modds i have. and who should i go with for the cam? my uncle owns a shop so i can get all my parts extremly cheap.
oh yeah something else i was wondering... would one benifit at all if one were to put a ls ecu in for the a6 like it does with the ZC or is that kinda pointless.

My buddy had a d16a6 with a webcam in it and he ran a 15.5 at the track. He then blew it up and put in a zc. Guess what he only ran a 15.2 with the zc.
This was all in an 89 si hatchback.

...check out the sites that are sellin the cams....they should have a general hp increase listed...who knows how accurate it is though. but aside from turbo or swapping, that's really the only route you've got left, so I'd go for one

Exactly. Who knows how much of an increase it will be, but of course better than stock. It wont be as much as a DOHC but it will definitley give some power to ya.

He had i/h/e and the msd setup.
All of these were swapped over to the zc after the d16a6 went up in smoke.

I've built some good D16A6 setups. I use just this one special grind. My setup is pretty much, lightened car, I/H/E cam, headwork, stock bottom end. Pulls 138 hp to the wheels.
best time is 13.6 about 3 years ago. i havent touched the setup since and still does 13.6 to this day. Depends on the cam, and what other mods go with it.
But Iv seen power increases that range from 10%-300%.

theres this little asian dude who drives around a b16a rex thats gutted....handed me my ass then i talked to him after..he said with his old bullfrog cam and a sprocket on his stock si engine with i/h/e , he was beating new si's, and a couple gsrs...dont know how much water his story holds though:grey:
