What are you going to use them for??

For the drag strip the nitto's are ok for me but I perfer the B.F.Goodrich G-Force Drag Radials, the rubber on the BFG's are soft like slicks.

For a real good street tire the nitto's will last longer.

Re: Any thoughts on Nitto 555R?

Thanks for the info guys ... I went a set of BFGs again.
I was goign crazy when I realized BFG discontinued the Comp T/As, but they have a new g-Froce T/A tread pattern which is similar. That is what I got.

These are going to be for dedicated track use.

If you are using them for the track only why not just get a pair of Mickey Thompson slicks. You can't get any better than slicks.

Re: Any thoughts on Nitto 555R?

I race in NHRA Sport RWD class which requires a DOT tire ... so no slicks for me

Re: Any thoughts on Nitto 555R?

BFG's are good tires, and hook really well. I run Nitto's only because of the longer tread life then BFG's, but the Nitto's really need to be heated up well to hook at their best.

Re: Any thoughts on Nitto 555R?

... I ended up ordering another set of BFG's.
275/50/15

As for the BFG's life ... I am going on 3 years with my current set.
