Seat belts

The motor for the seat belt on the driver side of my 1995 model for escort lx (1.9L), quit. I was just curious if the motor in the motor in the 88+ models would work. If not, what years WOULD work?

seat belt

is the motor still turning? if so it's another problem. the motor on mine still works, but the cable has a rough spot on it causing it to stick. I'm still trying to figure out the fix because I can't justify the $400 ford wants for a new seat belt system.

I've got a 94 with a bad track as well, been like that for 6 months
so I just use the lap belt for now. Luckily for me there is no
veichle inspection in FL! This issue is common with ford products
and has been mentioned here before. I think the best bet would
be to go to a local bone-yard and try to get a working used one.
Ford will try to sell you the whole assembly for an outrageous price..
