HELP CAN't FIND REAR DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT SCREW
Can someone please tell me how to adjust the rear drum brakes on my 87 CRX. They are not adjusted correctly and my braking sucks. I have a manual which tells me its inward under the control arm, But I still can't find it. Someone PLEASE HELP.

Re: HELP CAN't FIND REAR DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT SCREW
well i have never adjusted the rear brakes on my civic but if it is set up like most domestic drums there should be a plug on the back side of the drum where you would put a screw driver into.

Re: HELP CAN't FIND REAR DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT SCREW
You probably have self adjusting brakes (my '86 CRX had them until I swapped them for discs)
To adjust these you will simply need to drive the car in reverse and press the brake firmly several times. After doing this you will then need to adjust the E-brake. This is done by lifting the rear of the car and pulling the E-brake up 1 click, then tighten the cables untill the brakes just start to grab. |
