Map Sensor
How would I know if I need to replace the Map Sensor because I'm running out of ideas as to how to get this car back to running normally and not stalling out when I come to a stop.

Re: Map Sensor
Have you done the fuel filter?
The MAP sensor should be able to be read for voltage or resistance to see if its still good. What year is your car?? |

I have not changed the fuel filter, at least I don't think it was changed. The car is a 93. This is what has been replaced recently: timing belt and water pump, egr valve, distributor, idle motor. Someone mentioned to me that I should ask about the Map Sensor. I've decided to bring it to another shop tomorrow and see what another set of eyes have to say. I'm thinking that this might be the end of my car. I don't want it to be but I feel like too much is being invested. If I can fix it now I feel like it won't be fixed for long. The car has 160K miles on it. From experience with Celica's what do you think I should do. Should I fix this car or move on to another one. Lemme just add that the body is fantastic on this car and the engine and transmission is fine. The car at start has a high rpm. When the car comes to a stop it stalls often. The car also has a winding noise 99% of the time when the car is revved or used. Because of all this the car eats double the amount of gas. The only way to help prevent the car from stalling is to have the a/c on. If you have any suggestions as to what I can do or what I should do please write back soon.
