d16y8 swap...?
has anyone done a d16y8 or z6 swap into a 91 hatch dx? can you tell me what i would need to do it...the complete swap as i probably would be getting everything from the junkyards. was it an easy swap? also which motor would you recomend y8 or z6...i plan on going turbo eventually. oh yea i have an auto and i think i am going to stick with it rather then do the conversion... thanks for any info guys

Re: d16y8 swap...?
well i havent droped them into a 4th gen but i have performed a y8 bottom z6 top on a 92 4dr and a y8 top and z6 bottom on a 2000 coupe. Im currently investigating a 1.6 bottom on a 1.5 top. so if you think you need any help on how the motors (heads, blocks sensors... etc.) play with each other, please ask and i'll try my best to answer.
!HEADS UP! if you're going with a z6 bottom and a y8 top while keeping it odb2. your going to run into a little hell with the knock sensor and the crank angle at the crank pulley. |
